About

Ashley Coulon LCPC, ATR-BC

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Maine and board certified art therapist.  My training includes a Master’s in Art Therapy from George Washington University with an additional focus in Counseling.  After receiving my Master’s I was able to remain in the D.C. area and work in a variety of treatment locations including a psychiatric hospital, children’s oncology treatment center, schools, and for a home based private agency.

My history and professional background has provided me with a collection of experiences and exposed me to a diverse set of populations and treatment needs.  My  focus areas are for those dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, parenting challenges, prenatal and postpartum support.  Currently I am accepting adolescents and adults.

Laura Hetfield LCPC-C

I received my Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and have worked as a licensed school counselor for 4 years.  This opportunity allowed for experience with school aged children k-12 and communication/support for parents and staff.

The human experience is full of ups and downs, and sometimes individuals need extra support to navigate life’s challenges and transitions.  I am passionate about helping individuals through these times, and want to provide a safe and non-judgemental space.  I am trained to work with individuals of all ages.    I also use a solution-focused, strengths-based approach, helping clients create goals and move towards them in our work.  I also use mindfulness and being present in the moment, such as visualizations and meditation.

While working with others I strive to meet them where they are; so, they look towards where they want to be.  Counseling can heal grief, help people feel seen and supported in ways that can enhance one’s quality of life. As a local resident for the last 24 years, I have a love for the area and coastal communities we border. I have participated in the field for 15 years with various populations.   I coupled a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from St. Joseph’s College of Maine with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine.

As a social worker, I pride myself on being a great listener and having a really genuine approach while using my vast knowledge in the field. My approach with clients is to work collaboratively in creative ways to cope with life stressors and traumas, both past and present.  Healing and mental health are different for each individual. The therapeutic process will help clients use coping skills that best fit their personality and goals. The support people need , is as varied as the reason people seek treatment and counseling. Emotional growth and wellbeing is a huge part of one’s overall health and wellness.
